TRADE - 5 SETS of Ostrich Awning to Bundutop Brackets
These brackets provide twin 3mm plate steel ridgid Awning Mounts, wrapping around all 4 corners of the Bundutop for protection from Tree strikes, They are strong enough to handle the most heavy duty of Pole less awnings.
This Listing is the 'Spaced ' version of our popular Ostrich to Bundutop brackets - designed with spacers to get the awning out 20mm from the edge of the bundutop to prevent the lid fouling on the listed awnings below... (The awning types listed below do not come with spacers and thus need this kit).
We have also now an integrated Adjustable hook bracket - in this kit, allowing adjustment of awning tension on the fly using a 13mm Spanner.THe Kit also has an option to include our 'Bundu Suite' Integration kit, allowing the Bundutop SUITE to be mounted over the Tents Buttons, hinging the suite and allowing the ladder mount to remain on the Drivers side of the vehicle.
The Suite integration replaces the steel bracket on the SUITE with a stronger black powdercoated one, while allowing ANNEX poles to pass through the Adjustable hook bracket without issue at each end. (A lifesaver when fitting off these accessories).
The Kit comes complete with
- Sealed Rivetts and 10/6 High Tensile M8 Bolts to help ensure a quality fit up. Videos are provided on our you tube channel to assist home builders and pro fitters alike. Some kits have spacer blocks as required, others have double folds in lieu of spacing blocks to get the awnings out around gas struts and other protrusions.. (Dependent on your chosen awning and its mounting pattern).

The Bush Company XT 270, XT 180 and XT 180 Double End -are supported, (2100 Back plate please confirm) HOWEVER SEE BELOW ON BUSH CO.
NOTES ON THE BUSH COMPANY AWNINGS
We have added The Bush Company XT 270, and XT 180 Double end as well as the XT MAX awnings from The Bush company as "Supported awnings" - however the XT 180 and XT Max back plates LENGTH can vary..
If running these awnings - PLEASE ENSURE YOU MEASURE THE BACK PLATE LENGTH - as they need to be at least 2.2m LONG to work with this kit.
ALUCAB and HOWLING MOONThis Kit now supports Alucab , Howling Moon and quick pitch awnings (These awning run a 4 bolt x 50mm pattern and the Awning brackets supplied are now cut into this pattern to suit)
We would reccommend for the Southern States to Keep awning sizes under 12 sqm to avoid wind damage. MOST TENTS ARE ONLY STRONG ENOUGH TO HANG SINGLE HINGE AWNINGS. in winds over 15Knots..... (MAX 12 SQM).
BUNDUTOP TENT NOTES:
The Bundutop Tent is shorter than most at just 2.1m long, and its large flat faces make it ideal for fitment of awnings - The Bundutop tent is Capable of taking Double ended Bush company XT 180 Awnings - as well as the XT max - However we do reccommend carrying poles and Guy ropes in even mid strength wind - as these awnings do not 'wrap around the tent' and thus exert all twist pressure on just the one side of the tents they are fitted too..
AWNING Postitioning INFORMATION IMPORTANT
Brackets fitted to Bundutop Tents sit flush with the base of the tent - making them OK to install directly onto the lid of canopy or Racks that are wider than the tents base...
All Other Tents Bracket systems (ALL CLAMSHELL TENT BRACKETS) DONT fit flush beside the tent and require the tent to sit on a rack ABOVE the canopy. Some tents like the EEzi Awn tents brackets have to sit below the tent as far as 90mm.
MEASURE and Check. The awnings are usually about 20cm top to bottom thickness - Ensure there is room beside the tent and if its a clamshell tent, below it as well ... Open doors etc, check they will open under the installed awning.
