Toyota Land Cruiser 300

One of Australias Favorite Touring vehicles, The 300 series has a few hurdles with the installation of Roof tents and awnings as discussed below.

Pole less awnings and getting them on a 300 series:

Awning mounts / Brackets need to sit above the rack on all 300 series installs, to prevent awning arms striking the rear door and wind fairing when open.   Tough Touring UP mount awning brackets  will usually solve this problem, sitting 180mm UP and ONTOP of the existing roof rack. These brackets are called "Tough touring  Awning to rack brackets  - most variations of these brackets can be bolted straight up to common quality Aussie racks like Rhino rack pioneer, Arb base. Front runner racks and many others These Brackets are listed here

Tough Touring Platform Roof rack and Roof top tent racks for the 300...

Frustrated with the majority of offerings of racks for the Roof top tent touring community wanting to keep the tents low / rattle free and light as possible Tough Touring built both Roof top tent racks and a variation that includes a fully slotted platform rack for the 300 - More on these here

Fitting rooftop tents to the 300 series:

When fitting roof tents to the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series, standard roof racks sit pretty high and are often not wide enough to suit the mounting points on RTT. Some Tents like the Tuff Trek MK3 beat these issues by essentially being a roof rack as well as a roof top tent.  To Get Roof tents lower and stronger on the 200 - Tough Touring builds its own roof top tent rack for this vehicle

It is all about strength and a low profile - we manufacture our own Touring Roof rack / Platform rack for highest strength and lowest fitment possible.
