Toyota 300 Series Roof top Tent Rack
Tough Touring 300 Series Toyota Roof Rack / RoofTop Tent rack is a Low Profile / outward folded roof rack designed Specifically for the heavy loads consistent with offroad touring.
The Tough Touring Roof Top Tent Racks are Low, Light and Strong as we can build them, They use the Toyotas hidden 4th Row of roof bolts to add enourmous strength to the set up.
Cusomers preferring to Mount tents to the 'Backbones only' or roof rack rails can also select 'Roof Rails only' to save $500 on planks and to get the tent around 33mm Lower... Not all tents can be fitted this way. - However Tuff Trek Mk3 and Tough Touring MK 1 Rtt can be as they have East west structure built into the tents already.
If your going to install your roof top tent without the top hat cross bars - choose the options "Roof Rail Kit Only"
Pole less wing awnings can also be incorporated into the Roof top tent rails, or can be mounted to the side of the roof top tent if desired. Tough Touring makes both of these Bracket systems -

The Roof top tent Rack weighs around 23Kg complete with all fitting hardware and Planks. -
Our custom designed rails and crossbars come standard for the LC300 in an Outfolded orientation, as bolts can be accessed easily
ABOUT THE ROOF TOP TENT PLANKS
Our Unique Top Hat Folded Aluminium Planks are slotted to marry up to the roof rails - There are "3 x Top Hat Bar Planks" in the kit - for easiest tent removal/ \ The Top hat bar planks can included at varying widths to allow space outside the tents width to fit up Awning brackets and thus achieve an ' independent Awning to Tent ' installation our Tough Touring Awning to Rack Brackets shown here
If your going to run the Awning seperately to the roof top tent, its best to order the Top hat bar planks 50mm WIDER than your roof top tent. Its also best to Get the 4th Top Hat Bar plank option in the awning brackets kit - as its best to install 2 Planks for the Awning, and a different 2 planks for the tent, so that either or are removable independently.
The Tough Touring Roof Top Racks are Capable of handling typical Hardshell Tent loads in harsh off road environments - and can withstand a lifetime of punishing corregation abuse with their zero weld, M8 Bolt up structure. The Tough Touring Racks sit so low they help reduce vehicle body roll and wind noise - the light weight, forward positioning and Lowest possible mounting position of often heavy roof top tents will also help minimise negative effects of your tent on vehicle stability.
NICE FEATURES
The 300 series Electronic rear Tailgate door and windfairing / aerial design causes major issues with the majority of roof rack to roof tent installations... We've gone through 6 variations of test racks before coming up with the right balance of low profile / vehicle balance and a foul free fit up - of popular wing awnings, and our rack allows the 270 awnings to be correctly positioned to cover the gap between the awning and the door to keep the rain OUT.
The top hat planks are pre drilled to accept our Pole less wing awning brackets, giving immense twist strength and a super stiff mount point for oversized wing awnings.

Technical / Fitting
Fitting:
Tough Touring roof rails can be fitted by any roof rack fitter, or yourself if your handy. Included is a tube of Sikkaflex 221 Automotive sealant and new High tensile steel mounting bolts. Adding the rail planks is easier on the back - as the unique design of the TT roof rails allows all bolts to be accessed from beside the vehicle.
Adaptability:The Roof racks have been designed by us to to accomomodate awnings and roof top tents specifically without fouling on Vehicle wind fairings etc on most popular awning brands available toda
Our Vehicle Specific 'One Piece ' roof rail Kits for the vehicles above follow the vehicles roof lines perfectly while positioning the rack precisely around foul points / Protruding wind fairings - they have been tested with most of the awning and tent combinations listed and are the closest possible fit we can achieve.
Listed on the Store page are extra Top hat bar planks to add to your roof rail while the tent is removed - You would typically require at least 4 slats to create a functioning roof rack. (The Front and Rear Tough Touring Slats remain on the rails as the tent is lifted off, two slats would go up and off still fixed to the tent, So purchase an additional 2 slats - Bolt them on while the tent is off, and fitted you would then have 4 slats back on the car for a functioning rack - (and no need to remove the awning...Which stays fitted to the front and rear tough touring slats.) You could add up to 10 in total....
