The Tough Touring Patriot X1 Roof Rack has been a  highly Successfull Addition to the Patriot trailer. Adding the required height to mount a fixed Awning and a roof tent, As well as creating a 1700 x 1900 x 320mm loading Tray area for large / bulky items like firewood, camp chairs, tables, etc.

The Kit  Now includes the front enclosing Max Trax holder Bar plate - along with Pins for up to 4  x Max trax or Tred Pro Recovery tracks.

Tough Touring has been building racks for Patriot  Trailers X1, X2 and the N versions of these trailers now for 3 or 4 years... .

The X1 Patriot Version of the Tough TOuring Rack comes in  at 1900mm long, and we reccommend the rack be mounted 100mm in from the toe rail on each side of the trailer top - giving a nice full length shelf above the drop down kitchen bench for all manner of things. Very Handy.

Version 10  of this rack is now released - It has improvements around ease of install - (1 piece rack feet can be used as the drill template for the install, improving correctness of through bolts - as well as providing extra clean finish with sikkaflex overflows being on the inside edge and low visibility should you overdo it on the sealant).

More Video of the Kit installed available here on you tube - (the Video was filmed in Melbourne on completion , its a 2015 Model, fitted with a Bush Company XTmax Awning and Boss RT 1 Roof top tent.

The Rack KIT comes complete with 4 x 1400mm Aluminium TOP HAT BAR PLANKS - offering lightweight yet solid support for your roof top tent. You can opt for wider ones if your going to run bigger tents (Like the Popular Bundutop KING which requires 1550mm planks - These are listed in the options below)

The  Rack complete weighs in at a hefty  50 KGS as shown in Pics...  - The Kit is shipped in two large boxes - 45 x 2.2 x 15cm (Approx 25 kgs each) - If you add weight of a Large roof tent and awning you end up with around 180kgs total weight added to the trailer.

This sounds a lot, but the existing Tent and awning when removed add up to around the same weight. No Major Net gain or win weight wise anyway.

Were Reccommending customers installing this rack on the X1 first seal up the Old mounting bolt holes with the included SikkaFlex sealant - let it dry then install a 1900 x 1500mm 2.5 mm Chequerplate Aluminium Sheet right in the middle of the 1700mm roof. This leaves 100mm Shelf space on the outside edge of the rack, and provides an excellent durable surface to load gear under the rack. A Touring Game changer, Its like you have a ute tray with you for gear stowage, The Included Max trax holder on the front works well tos topping any forward movement of gear loaded in on the tray, and the large holes in the side profile of the rack are large enough to gain access to the insides with your hands.

Guy / Eye bolts points are able to be fixed to the bolt threads at 16 points inside the rack, allowing strapping down of gear anywhere with ease.

These Racks are being fabricated 5 at a time - Many Parts are shared over the 4 Patriot Models that we build them for. (x1 X1N, X2, X2N ) and while we aim to always have  them in Stock  -  Our Worst case Scenario can have Order to Delivery times can be as long as  3 weeks We stress that they are MADE TO ORDER, If your in a rush pop us a line to see whats here before you purchase.
