Awning to Tough Touring Roof Top Tent Rack Brackets
Bolt these brackets straight onto Tough Touring ROOF TOP TENT brackets allow customers running roof top tents to muont their awning Independently to the tent - beside it straight to the tough touring roof rack planks.
The Brackets make a medium strength / yet stiff up mount for for almost any brand of Pole Less Wing awnings - The Bracket set has been improved through abuse and failure over time to get this far for customers running 'Independent' awning to tent installations.
The Bracket kits come in an UP mount configuration - The bracket sits 180mm above the rack. (typically right beside your tent - tents average heights are between 200 and 300mm so there is no overall height increase.)
The kit come complete with Forch High Tensile 20mm Dome nut mounting hardware, a Hook Bracket and Logo Plates. (5 Piece Laser cut kit).
Independent Awning to Tent installation warning - This bracket set is not as strong as our Awning to Tent Brackets...
Where Possible, These Awning brackets should be avoided in lieu of using an awning to tent bracket... which is a far stronger design..
If you must use an ' Independent awning to tent bracket set ' (This Set) avoid heavy forward swinging awnings - as it is not possible to achieve the required triangulation on the brackets due to the front mount being beside and under the roof tent.
Damage to the front bracket is likely over time, corregations and wind stress can fatigue the metal mounts and planks if your awning is too heavy. We'd reccommend sticking to the lightest pole less awnings you can get if you have to use this kit - or if possible stick to the far far stronger Awning to tent bracket sets up as brackets can triangulate around the tent ends for immense strength and carry pretty much any awning with ease.
LAND CRUISER 200 and 300 Series Owners, Y62 OWNERS TO NOTE
AWNINGS THAT FOUL
NOTE THAT LC 200 ,300 and Y62 Owners Most AWNINGs WILL FOUL ON REAR DOORS WIND FAIRING WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED UP . Thus it is ideal to purchase an awning with the last arm jointed at the TOP of the hinge giving the last arm more height.
The Ostrich wing awning is we;; known to us and has the last arm at the top of the hinge , Providing excellent clearance of the back door wind fairing. The Bush Co XT 270 and Max are also Known to us to be 'Bottom hinge' awnings - if you want to fit them they are 130mm lower at the rear already - fouling on wind fairing is certain with almost any roof rack ... Check your awning brand carefully for detail on 'Last arm hinge point' as most cannot be opened at the same time the back door is open on these vehicles unless the roof rack is really really high.
