Testing of billet steel Camshaft Pulley part No. 1311317 RH is complete after inspection today at Rova Range in their new workshop in Mulgrave.

long drive in the test vehicle - a 2008 2.7 dtv6 range rover sport diesel - after realising Rova Range had moved to new site in Mulgrave ! anyway easy drive to meet up with the main man there and pull down the rangie sport to examine the camshaft pulley after the new camshaft pulley gear (billet) part was installed in a test vehicle some months back.

Im tolt the pulley fits Land rover discovery 3

2.7 Diesel as well as the 3.0litre diesel that came out in the disco 4.... Also the diesel motors in ford territory v6 engines (probably a few varients of that vehicle with different names in different countries too)

so a couple of pics of the cam pulley in the vehicle after running around a few months... I had to laugh when i saw all my fitting instructions hand written in sharpie still visible on the face :) There was no wear evident on any component - absolute perfect cam belt too and so happy that its all working so well

The cam pulley itself is manufactured out of a solid 40mm block of 350 steel - its cnc machined/ run through a lathe - then cnc machined again... its a 3 step machining process - I asked engineering how much stronger than the stock cast part this one would be - Inhavnt got any straight answer from them - just "more than ten times stronger" - that'll do :)
