Toyota 100 and 105 Series Roof Rack
Tough Touring has developed a Super Low mount , Full Length One Piece folded roof rail rack specifically for the Land Cruiser 100 and 105 - Its primaryly designed to lower COG of Roof top tents and Pole less wing awnings and increase Strength overall.
The Rack rails are made of 3mm One Piece Mild STeel, Powdercoated in Black Dulux Textura.The Crossbars included in the rack kt are 4 x 3mm Aluminium TOP hat Folded Bar planks - for super light weight and stiffness.
The rack overall comes in at around 23Kgs and sits a mere 25mm off the roof skin. A recent rush on 100 series rack has accellerated our own R&D progress on this rack, bringing it in line with a pretty perfect fit these days. Last three installs by home handyman have gone on without a hassle... Very easy install..
The top rail feet have been heat folded to 75 Degree angles to allow maximum camber while still giveing tool access, top foot rails now folded to 80 degrees (1 big lengthways fold) for super solid - zero flex -and heavy load... Unreal rack.. The 100 is among our favorite vehicles and its 4 point super strong roof just makes it easy for us to look good :)

Recent updates means the Kit now comes complete with 8 x 10mm PLA spacers - allowing fittment of the rack kit without removal of the Roofs rubber inset trim.. (The feet fit straight in Easy as).

Fitting:
Tough Touring roof rails can be fitted by any roof rack fitter, or yourself if your handy. Included is a tube of Sikkaflex 221 Automotive sealant and new High tensile steel mounting bolts. Adding the rail planks is easier on the back - as the unique design of the TT roof rails allows all bolts to be accessed from beside the vehicle.

Our Vehicle Specific 'One Piece ' roof rail Kits for the vehicles above follow the vehicles roof lines perfectly while positioning the rack precisely around foul points / Protruding wind fairings - they have been tested with most of the awning and tent combinations listed and are the closest possible fit we can achieve.
Widths of touring gear are really important, For example - If you are running a Bundutop Standard Tent 1350mm wide ) , and wish to run a pole less wing awning independently to the tent (Ie Fitted to the rack) - Tell us your tent and awning combination so we can supply the right bits... (For a Bundutop tent running an awning seperate to the tent which is 1350mm wide - we would supply 2 x 1400mm planks and 2 x 1550mm planks..) However if you were going to run the bundutop tent with the awning fitted to the tent, we'd provide 4 x 1400mm Bar planks...
So - Choose 'Independent awning fittment' , 'No Awning' or 'Awning to tent' fittment in the options box ..You need to understand that in fitting roof tents behind awnings, its likely that you will have to also re-position tent latches as required.
Listed on the Store page are also individual 'Extra' Bar planks to add to your roof rail while the tent is removed - 4 slats are included in this rack purchase to create a Pair of Bar planks for the awnings fittment, as well as a pair for the tent... This allows independent awning and tent fittment, with the tent bolted to 2 planks but sitting on 4 for load support... Typically the tents Bar planks if running this set up will be 2 x 1450mm planks, and the awnings planks will be 2 x 1550mm planks...
When the tent is off, 2 planks will remain on the tent, so a lot of customers will by a second pair as extras to create a 4 plank rack to use ...
As Shown in the pictures above, the Universal Rails themselves are an excellent foundation for many other rack baskes, flat racks, mounting platforms... Customers are mounting all kinds of boxes and custom made gear to them, - Spare Tyres are no problem with each Bar plank having point load strength over 75 kgs each.Specifications and Installation

At Present - we have moved to General Release Version of this rack - Its design has evolved into a 1 piece foot rail and with 4 seperate feet - Improvements have further increased strength and its simple installation makes it a no brainer.

RECCOMMENDED PLANK WIDTHS
For Ultimate strength and easy install / removal the standard size is 1400mm bar planks to go with this rack for all roof top tents - Except the Bundutop KING which requires 1550mm planks .
If your Going to install your awning to the rack rather than the tent, We'd reccommend you order at least 50mm wider Top hat bar planks than your tent width.
All Planks supplied are now manufactured in Aluminium for lighter weight and Corrossion resistance.
Top Outfold Foot rails are folded outwards at 80 Degrees, while the rack feet are our standard 75 Degree fold. (InFold is a Plus 100 Fold)
Our custom designed rails and crossbars form a super strong, low foundation for your chosen roof top tent and Awning Combination. Capable of handling typical Hardshell Tent loads on Off road environments - The Tough Touring Racks are so low they help reduce wind noise while getting the weight of the touring gear lower -
minimising vehicle body roll.
ABOUT THE RACK - THE EXTRAS
The One piece rack we supply we've kept it short at the rear, allowing pole less wing awnings to swing through their arc and be set up over the space above the rear door, stopping rain ingress,, Its also important to keep roof weight forward as it improves vehicle handling etc as well...
Please note that if your wishing to accessing a roof top tent from the rear on the 100 series, YOU CANNOT USE THE STANDARD LADDER HERE, as the Wind fairing fouls on the tent unless you fit it RIGHT back at the rear which will cause other issues...
We'd reccommend you fit an aftermarket rear door ladders (One that is fixed to the vehicle) .. on this vehicle is Our rack design takes into account this option, as fitting the tent forward offers more of the the pro's and less of the cons
Alternatively The 100 series has no issues with ladder access from the drivers side of the vehicle.INCLUSION LIST
