Bushwakka Same Length Awning to Hybrid Wall POP TOP Camper Brackets
The Tough Touring 'Same Length' 360 Awning to Hybrid awning to Hybrid camper Brackets are built specifically to suit Bushwakka 360 awnings that are purchased the same length as the Campers Pop top. For these Brackets to be suitable for your chosen awning,
The Bushwakka Awning has a hinge that allows the last arm to protrude out approx 100mm+ from the same length Backplate - The Last End Arms are trussed - Some Bushwakka Awnings are like this with a heavy duty offset hinge providing the awning with an effectively longer back length measurement.
You can choose to opt out of the 3 x Central supporting brackets that usually come with this kit if your going to use the existing awning brackets already on the van and are happy to use them where they intersect for hanging support. (May as well, its easier than trying to remove them).
If your going to use the existing central support brackets, a 'Basic' Kit of 2 x Tough Touring Triangulation brackets and 2 x Hook Brackets will be all you'll need to secure the awning against flex when open. (The Basic Kit option is listed below as a $490 option)
If your campter does not have central brackets you can use - Or they are under the wall top plate on really weak and useless - Get the full kit, it has three more central top plate brackets that will make the install super strong and prevent any rubs on trees etc destroying your camper walls.
Please note that Photographs of the bracket set were taken of the Bundutop 360, as I didnt have any bushwakka ones to post / they may not be current as we are updating these kits all the time.
The Basic Kit comes with two end brackets and two hook brackets - The Full Kit adds 3 x central brackets as well requird 5mm Grip Nuterts and Dome head bolts.
The Bracket needs to be installed far enough out from the wall of the camper for the awnings securing bolts and bolt heads to be accessed to do them up - Typically we'd reccommend a 40mm Gap out For the closest possible fit s - The Awning length can be the same length as the pop top trailers roof (Longer sizes will also fit - But definatly not shorter sizes).
It is ideal for the installation if your trailers existing awning mounts - Or if it has an Aluminium or plastic rain gutter - leave it on! These gutters or old brackets can be used to stabilize the centre of the bundutec awning - which will wobble if not secured in the centre... A Couple of Rivets or a single bolt will be enough to stop the wobble.
ABOUT the Brackets
The Brackets are fixed via Rivnuts (Nutserts) to the inset / Top edge of the pop tops Flush Steel Frame - and are triangulated for strength and bracing either way along the edge of the pop tops shutting /seal surface.
Zero flex through the brackets is present. Shear testing is far in excess of the awnings structure (Meaning if the wind gets under the awning, the awning will fail, not the camper).
Fitting is fairly straightforward with 6 x M8 Nuterts each end fixing the brackets. No Requirement for any fixings on the visible side walls of the camper as these are made of a composite filled with styrene (No strength there).
If its the Bushwakka awning (Same Length) go for the 'Basic' Kit below if your camper already has effective central Brackets holding up the awning
ADVISED INSTALL RAINWATER GUTTER
Additional Guttering may be required to prevent water running down the walls - this is not something tough touring supplies. can be fitted. . A bit of angle in aluniuminiu / plastic or rubber would do it... Install it after the awning is on so you can measure it up.
Supported Awnings:
Bushwakka 360 (Must order custom size to match your roof length.) ,
TECH SPECS - MEASURE YOUR TRAILER for CORRECT AWN
Loads exerted by twist forces on awning are triangulated along the pop tops joining structure giving the brackets immense strength and minimising potential damage to the camper in the event of wind damage.
WHY - Fittment of 'Wrap around' - freestanding pole less awnings.Pole Less wing awnings tend to be really fast to put up and put down. (a couple of minute or so)...
ABOUT the Brackets
The Brackets do not foul on any of the tested variants of this chinese built trailer, so far tested on MDC 12, 15 and other name varieties.

FOOT NOTE. If you have wrong length awning
FOOT NOTE:
To achieve required anti - twist strength - tough touring brackets triangulate back along the pop tops body to 'brace' the awning against lifting in wind along the front and rear ends of the van. This is achieved by the 'wrap around' design of the bracket system used.
If this is not possible as the awning you've purchased is too short - DO NOT TRY TO FIT THE AWNING - You are far better off selling the awning and buying the right length ...
